It is our belief in MFPS that character development can be acquired through a good leadership programme. It is built on the principle that there is “A Leader in Every Pupil”. A longitudinal leadership training programme organized for student leaders (prefects) from Primary 4 to 6 and class and CCA captains from Primary 1 to Primary 6 assist in building their competencies and discover their leadership potential. Through the development and honing of their leadership skills, pupils can contribute as prefects, class and CCA captains for the betterment of self, their peers and the community. Class leadership is structured to ensure that each child assumes a leadership role every year. We have enhanced this forte by putting in place processes to ensure every pupil has a chance to assume responsibility as a subject captain or even in informal positions such as group leaders. Opportunities are created for them to put into practice their leadership skills and role-model values through organizing school and classroom events and activities such as Teachers’ Day Celebration, Pupil Suggestion Scheme, CIP activities, Games Day activities, Eye-care and Readership programmes.
