Character Development (CD) is integral in Mayflower Primary School and it is clearly reflected in our school’s vision statement that reads, “Exemplary Citizens of Tomorrow.” The school strongly believes in teaching and reinforcing responsible human behaviour to nurture our pupils into resilient, caring, self-disciplined and thinking individual with love for learning and discovery and always striving for excellence.  

The design of the Character Development Framework ‘The Mayflower Ship’, which encapsulates character development in MFPS serves to consolidate the processes, systems and structures of our CD Programme.The customized approach, termed at ExCitE, acts as a platform to formulate all our programmes– Exposing pupils to the skills and values, creating opportunities for them to Internalize, Transform and Exemplify the values and skills taught, Celebrating their success through awards and recognition.

Lifeskills, Leadership, Community Involvement Programmes (CIP) and National Education (NE) are the four key areas leveraged for character development.
